Happy Days

It was a busy but great weekend for us. Saturday morning we were actually out the door by 8:30am - amazing for us and yes, both babies were in tow! Maybe its quick because we bribe William with bisquits at Tim's for breakfast, his favourite! After a birthday visit with Aunt Bonnie and Paul (and the cats and Drake :) we headed off to Whitby to celebrate Aunt Emi's big day. William always loves heading off to Whitby, to see Boppa "He calls me Curly, Boppa's a funny guy!"

Happy Anniversary Nana and Boppa!!!

Birthdays, Cupcakes and Pink Elephants

After a delightful evening of celebrating birthdays for Oma and Uncle Neil, William and I were left on our own (while Rosie slept peacefully upstairs) to make cupcakes for tomorrow's festivities for Aunt Emily and Aunt Bonnie. Happy days to everyone and enjoy the pictures. PS - can't write now, have to go watch Pocoyo
, William's new favourite.

Family Fun Days

As yesterday was the first ever Family Day in Ontario, we thought we'd celebrate it in the only way that this family can - by acting pretty crazy! As seen in the clips above, we had food on the run (well, granola at the top of the stairs) and we re-enacted some of our favourite, most poignant Doctor Who moments. Very dramatic as you can tell. :) The highlight of the evening (as if this wasn't enough) came after the babies went to bed and Scott and I watched the Top Gear Polar Special where the crew race to the North Pole: a dog sled versus a Toyota pick-up truck. Quite good stuff that kept us up too late.

William was up almost 40 minutes past bedtime tonight asking questions like 'why do we live on the roof' (we have no idea what that was about!) 'why are you two not in bed?', and telling us 'I'm sick and so I need orange juice because orange juice gets rid of the boogers' and believe it or not, the whole time that he's screaming Rosie is next door and never makes a sound.

Who needs a provincial holiday when you've got William?

And by the way, if anyway is starting to wonder why William never seems to be wearing pants, its because we are 95% of the way there to having him potty-trained (so close!!) and its just easier that way. That or he just really like going around pant-less right now and we are simply picking our battles :)

Spring fever and teething blues

OK so maybe Spring fever is a bit of a stretch but my Valentine tulips against the snowy window is a fun sight. Poor Rosie is definitely teething now, hardly able to get through a nap without fussing and inconsolable crying, poor thing. We're finishing up a tube of Bonjela teething gel that Heather had leftover from their days in England and thank goodness Uncle Chad has just informed me that more is on the way! Rosie is so funny, she'll be crying like mad until I rub her sore gums with the banana, sickly-sweet tasting gel, and then she breaks out into the biggest grin you can imagine. I guess somebody will develop a sweet tooth very early on!

And just to let you all in one this one, all the while I'm typing this, William is wandering around singing, 'Nobody loves me, everybody hates me, I going to the garden to eat worms!' Thank Sharon, Lois and Bram!

Happy Heart Day!!

Happy Valentine's and happy me for finally figuring out (with Scott's heart - hey, i meant to type help but this works too :) how to do pics on here. Can't write long because Rosie's waking up and William is going to 'soak a Cheerio', you know what I mean. I'll write more later :)

So later this evening: Scott's at class tonight and man does William love to pull out all the tricks! His tantrums - I'll honestly admit - are reaching new heights, I think my new tactic is going to be to ignore them. Any other suggestions are appreciated :)

It was a great day today. Scott surprised us and stayed home a half day and we went to play at the market. We bought tulips to at least pretend spring is coming and we made the biggest chocolate chip cookie, as William says, 'the best cookie EVER' - too bad we couldn't get it cooked all the way, oh well :)

There's always next year.

long time....

So its been awhile since I've written and a lot has happened. Since Christmas we have watched Rosie change from a newborn infant into a baby, complete with big smiles, gurgles and even giggles. She is an absolute delight, very very happy little girl and can I admit, sleeping through the night. William continues to have accidents on the potty-training front, but I stress out less about it now, he's bound to get it eventually, I mean his Daddy finally did, right? :)

And as for other blessings, our dear friends Heather and Josh have birth to lovely Justin only yesterday and tonight we got to met and cuddle with him. When I took Rosie into my arms after about a half our of holding Justin, she felt so huge! She a big girl now, I can hardly remember her as a newborn. I know that with William I was always looking forward to the next stage, the next milestone, this time I'm much more content with the present, I don't want it to go too fast this time but sigh, I know it will. Oooh, but its just all so good ;)
