We've been working on the railway...

Inspired by the new bandsaw Daddy bought for Father's Day, Daddy and William started to work on a new toy train on Saturday. After cutting the wood, they started sanding.

Then it was time to paint.

We had a hard time finding proper axles at Canadian Tire today, but it should be finished soon.

One more for each. :)

For William, today we purchased his first board game - the classic Candyland
For Rosie, we walked into her room after naptime and she was sitting up! So tonight we dropped the mattress, its all happening too fast.

This morning Scott and I were awoken just after 6:30 to William's daily question: Is it 7 yet? To which we always answer, Not Yet, as long as we can. But this morning, after being told the usual reply, he answered back, Mommy, did you know that I can wink now?!?! Pretty exciting start to the day!!! :)

Just Hanging out

Here's Rosie, one sunny morning, showing off her new jammies from Aunt Bonnie - so so cute :) Her first two-piece set (and they have roses on them!!)

And as for William (or the skinny one as Scott and I refer to him in private - Rosie being the fatty of course :), it's ice cream season. Enough said :)

Conversation in the Shower

This morning, while in the shower the curtain was ripped to one side and there stood William, pj-clad, holding up one slippered foot. The conversation went like this:

W - Mommy, my foot is shaking. (He looked quite upset about this) See? (shook foot around)

me - Really? Like Mommy's hands.

W - Yes. It does that sometimes. (still looked quite sad and me trying hard not to smile)

me - That's ok.

W - Mmmm. (looking around shower and spotting toys) Do you want a boat or something?

me - Alright.

He went on to dumps boats and one red plastic teacup at my feet.

W - There, you can have a cup of tea. (said in his pseudo-Charlie & Lola accent)

And then he took off.

Very funny :)

ps - Rosie is almost crawling!!

William turns 3!!!!!

William woke up at Nana's the morning of his 3rd birthday. He had to wake up to balloons (his request!) just like he did the year before. As Mommy and Daddy dropped them on top of sleeping William, he woke up and smiled saying the exact same thing as last year, 'Balloons, Balloons!'in a rather creaky, sleep voice. It was a glad reminder that 3's not so big after all :)

It was a beautiful day on May 29th, and William spent time outside playing with Daddy and Mommy and his new bubbles!

He had something else that day that he didn't have last year, his little sister. :)

Thanks to everybody for the visit and presents. They all help William keep busy right now while Mommy is hobbling around (but that's another story soon to come :)

OK we're back!

So this was my birthday and it was great to spend time with everybody. Here are pictures just to get up to date. It was such a fun visit, I'm sure no one will mind re-visiting it a little!

Thanks everybody for a nice day!

At Last!

It feels like such a long time coming but at long last, Uncle Chad has met his Rosie Champagne!

Too bad their first day together wasn't the most smiley as it was a very, how should I say it, plugged up day for our Rosie (thanks again for Aunt Paula's help there :) But luckily (and a very good present for Mommy's birthday) smiles and more (oh, so much more) came free flowing within the next 24 hours!

After Scott and William surprised Chad by sneaking up behind him at the airport, it took no time at all for William to cuddle in and requests readings of Fireman Sam and the latest Chirp. It always seems like no time has passed (then why is it always so hard to say good-bye?)

Lots of birthday celebration and family pictures to come! :)
