Dancing Rose

This morning marked the end of Rosie's dance classes. It's been 10 weeks of moving around, throwing balls, flapping scarves, playing with parachutes and her personal favourite, pony gallops. This video shows the dance they'd prepared for the open-house today (or 'break-house' as Rosie called it for some weird reason). I love seeing dancing-Rose as compared to soccer-Rose. I love all the pots she's got her fingers into these days, whether it's painting or swimming or trying to read or telling her stories that sometimes seem to go on for hours. She'd getting to be our big girl and couldn't be more fun.
Now back to party preparation for a certain someone's 6th birthday party this weekend! More on him soon!

Oh right, the headband. All her idea.

More just because they're such fun pictures and because I think it's going to be awhile before soccer is this sunny again. Maybe not, fingers crossed.

Rosie started soccer last Saturday. When the game began and someone else scored the first goal, she turned to us and began to wail that she wanted to do that. So I took a second to explain to her how it worked and said simply that if she wanted to do it, get a goal, this is what she had to do. And she did, 4 times (once in other team's net)! Scott and I were doubled over laughing because we couldn't believe it, while William ran around cheering her on. He even made her a medal when we got home. Maybe she'll love it or maybe the whole thing was a one off - we'll have to see. But regardless, it made for a perfect happy Saturday.

(Playing around with new blog designs is just as much fun as moving furniture around.)

Royally Behind

I've been doing everything else it seems but this blog! We've been watching Royal weddings, which gave Rosie the inspiration for the t-shirt above. We've been falling in love with our friend's baby twins. I've been writing stories as if I'm making up for the last years of not writing much. And we've been enjoying the sun whenever we can. Doesn't sound like much, but it's been fun and I expect there will be much more of it, but I promise to update here much more.
